Now on ScienceBlogs: Give to Haiti
You've read the blog, now try the book: How to Teach Physics to Your Dog is published by Scribner, and available wherever books are sold.
"Uncertain Principles" features the miscellaneous ramblings of a physicist at a small liberal arts college. Physics, politics, pop culture, and occasional conversations with his dog.
"Prof. Orzel gives the impression of an everyday guy who just happens to have a vast but hidden knowledge of physics." (anonymous student evaluation comment)
Emmy is a German Shepherd mix, and the Queen of Niskayuna. She likes treats, walks, chasing bunnies, and quantum physics.
Uncertain Principles is a weblog by Chad Orzel, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Union College in Schenectady, NY. If you care about my credentials, I've got a CV on my work webpage, and it's almost up to date. As the tagline says, topics covered will include physics, politics, and pop culture, with side trips into various aspects of life in academia, and other things that I find amusing or interesting.
While it is my fervent hope that my superiors at Union and the fine people of the Seed Media Group agree with me about the laws of physics, all opinions expressed here are mine, and mine alone. Don't hold my politics against them.
This weblog has been in operation since June 2002 over at steelypips.org, where it was pre-dated by my book log (which will continue to be sporadically updated over there).
